Ministry: Russia’s uncut diamond exports fall 30% in Oct–Dec 2015

MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- Russia’s uncut diamond exports decreased 29.9% on the year to 7.556 million carats in October–December 2015, the Finance Ministry said in a report on Monday.

In monetary terms, diamond exports fell 38.6% to U.S. $727.043 million.

Exports to Belgium amounted to 5.126 million carats, down 23% on the year, worth $410.325 million, a 42% decrease. Exports to India and the United Arab Emirates stood at 1.281 million carats and 611,142 carats, respectively.

Uncut diamond imports increased 61.7% on the year to 16,870 carats in the period worth $41.794 million, up 18.5% on the year.
